Standard padel court dimensions

Official standard dimensions underpin fair play, comparable training and reliable match conditions. When a court deviates, feel changes: lobs, angles off the glass and net positioning behave differently. For clubs and players who move between venues, consistent measurements matter most.

Line logic and court layout

The 20 x 10 metre area is built for doubles. Two equal halves are split by the net. The service line 6.95 m from the net, together with the centre line, creates four service boxes; every rally starts with a diagonal serve. The relatively low net in the middle rewards precise flat shots and punishes vague ball height.

Handover or planning: quick checklist

  • Check overall length and width sit exactly in the 20 x 10 m frame
  • Measure net height at centre and sides separately
  • Verify each service line is 6.95 m from the net
  • Ensure the centre line is straight and square to the service line
  • Test line contrast in daylight and artificial light
  • Short play test: serve, return, lob, back wall
